About AKCCS

The world is an opportunity

The practice moved its offices in 2010 for the last time. It is now located on the exclusive 26th floor of City Tower, the tallest building in Prague, enjoying a breathtaking view of the Prague cityscape. No wonder that with such a vista, the practice offers a Dimension That Makes a Difference.

The success of our practice also helped to create room for the operations originally contemplated by the members of the firm, albeit in a slightly different form. True, they had actually been active as promoters since the very beginning (for example, they were at the cradle of the Club of Friends of the National Theatre Opera), but the pivotal point in this respect was the establishment of the BOHEMIAN HERITAGE FUND in 2009; since then, using private funds raised from sponsors the Fund has been supporting unusual cultural feats and seeking to return self-confidence to exquisite Czech culture and, in turn, the Czech Republic. It is also thanks to these activities that the law firm has repeatedly been recognised as the Czech Leading Law Firm in the pro bono and CSR fields.

Pavel Smutný took over as the President of the Czech-Israeli Chamber of Commerce also in 2009. Thus, our law firm has become strongly committed to support for international investments, Czech exports and, in general, broad-ranging international cooperation through these pursuits.

It is no accident that most of the current team leaders started out in our law firm when still in their student years or in some other junior positions. By the way, we have had teams since 2008 and each of them in fact operates almost as a small practice in its own right, because they are differentiated by the clients for whom they work rather than by fields of law. This is what makes our firm exceptional: it is not afraid to give a chance to young people and appoint them to positions for which they would have to wait for a long time in more rigid structures. “We lay the world before our associates as an opportunity. We are modern solicitors who understand the context of and take a comprehensive approach to their work. We must never fall into routine,” concludes Pavel Smutný.
